Card-on-file is the strictest trust setting. Bidders pre-authorise a payment method before the system accepts a bid.

Dashboard → Trust → Bidder verification → choose Card on file.

On their first bid in any of your rooms, the bidder is prompted to add a card. Stripe Elements handles the form.

We do not charge the card yet. We hold a $0 verification and unlock bidding.

Adds friction: expect 10 to 20% fewer first-time bidders to convert to a bid.
Best for watches, cards, sneakers above R5,000. Overkill for most casual community rooms.
